MetaLife in China

MetaLife Metaverse works with Chinese manufacturers of artificial intelligence and extended reality (XR) technologies, including virtual reality (VR) headsets, augmented reality (AR) glasses and AI-powered smart glasses. Our goal is to bring these technologies to the Middle East and North Africa as complete solutions: devices, Arabic applications and content, training and qualification, and projects that are implemented, operated and supported within the region.

Why China

China is one of the world's largest manufacturing hubs for smart glasses, VR headsets and XR devices, with a complete supply chain from components to finished products. Our region has a large young population and government plans for digital transformation in education, culture, tourism and industry. The missing link between the two is not the device, but:

  • Applications and content in Arabic
  • People trained to operate and develop for these devices
  • Technical support and maintenance within the region
  • A local partner who understands institutions and their needs

This link is what MetaLife works on.

Our vision for partnering with Chinese companies

We go beyond buying devices. We build a complete ecosystem with our partners around their technology, based on six pillars:

  1. Applications and Arabic content

We develop Arabic applications and content for our partners' devices, from VR headsets and AR glasses to smart glasses: virtual tours, simulations, AI guides, and educational and cultural experiences.

  2. Training and education

We design training programs on using, operating and developing content for XR technologies, for teachers, trainers and institutional teams. We bring virtual reality into classrooms, labs and mobile labs, so the device becomes an everyday learning tool rather than a one-time experience.

  3. Professional pathways

We aim to build professional qualification pathways with our Chinese partners in fields the region needs: XR device operation, technical support and maintenance, VR/AR application development and 3D content design, leading to certificates accredited by the manufacturing partner.

  4. Academic pathways

We are working on partnerships with universities and institutes in the region to set up extended reality labs, bring XR into curricula and research, and open opportunities for academic cooperation and knowledge exchange with Chinese universities and research centers.

  5. Joint projects with institutions

Together with our partners, we design projects for museums, heritage sites, tourism, education, industry and events. They start with a time-bound joint pilot and grow based on its results.

  6. Implementation, operations and support in the region

We handle installation, operations, technical support and maintenance locally. Our parent company, Albawaba Almotakamela for Companies Representation (UAE), provides a framework for representing Chinese companies in the region and facilitating their market entry.

How we start: every partnership begins with a technical evaluation of the devices and development tools (SDK), followed by a joint pilot with a beneficiary institution, then gradual expansion based on real results.
